    Demjansk Shield

    A shield for my collection. Only have 2.

    Made of steel so is magnetic.

    Rough solder to 3 prongs.

      Wayne, an original St u L made "Demjansk Shield", same as mine and Patryk's, however as these are made of thinly stamped steel they tend to discolour and in some cases rust ! mine has started with a overall brown discolouration, I guess just with age.....yours looks to have have been repainted in silver because of this phenomena ! Still a good example

        I'll put some acetone to it and see if anything lifts.

        If it does I may think of cleaning it off.

          Nice shield Wayne!!
          Not my favourite design this one if i'm honest, same with the wartime original, not sure what it is, but it doesn't seem to have the character of the Krim, Kuban, etc. Maybe its the flat appearance that reminds me of a tinnie??
          Anyway, yours looks like a nice, earlier example, if it has been repainted, I would leave it as it is personally, but its your choice!!
