    Very early 57er GAB....................

Gentlemen, back to basics and the "bread & butter" of 1957 awards, after hunting down and gambling on more exotic examples of post war/57er awards/medals its a pleasure to add a very early GAB to my collection, a lovely St u L example from 1957-59 time period, with first style type pin and hinge assembly, and burnished frosted finish, a good looking medal, it keeps my other early/mid produced St u L GAB company.
I show my two St u L made GAB's along side each other (earliest on left) and then the two St u L's with my Deumer made version..........notice the differing rear fastener assemblies.
    Prost ! Steve.

          Hi Steve,

Congrats on the new 57er GAB and it is always great to find a very early piece!

I noticed how much crisper the detail is on the very early piece as compared to the mid piece. Nice group shot with the Deumer GAB! I do think the S&L piece looks better than the Deumer piece overall in this particular badge type. The S&L eagle, especially the head area is superior IMHO.

The very early S&L piece would be a 1.1.1.2 while the mid piece would be a 4.1.1.3 I guess every village needs an idiot and I volunteer .......

Great pieces and nice photos as always!

          Best,

          Jeff

Lovely example of an early S&L GAB Steve!!!
About as nice an example as you could wish to find!!
Great comparison pics with both the slightly later S&L and a Deumer!!!!
            Great new addition!
