    Nice ribbon bar

    Hi guys,

This was, I thought, offered to me and then it wasn't. Long story but I wanted to share with you because it is a very interesting ribbon bar. It belongs to Stuka pilot Kurt Plenzat. Look at the sea battle badge on the bottom row - second from right. I asked the seller when was Plenzat awarded this because I couldn't come up with anything about the award. Plenzat was a very brave and famous Stuka pilot. Shot down many times behind enemy lines in the eastern front. Sorry, about the picture but it's the only one that was given to me.

    What are your thoughts?
    Regards,
    Rudy

      Hi Rudy!!
I know nothing about Plenzat or the awards he won, the Sea Battle Badge wasn't actually awarded wartime to the best of my knowledge, though it was awarded on paper, and I believe some prototypes were actually produced.
Don't see many on 57 bars, but that shouldn't put us off!!!
Anway to the bar itself, difficult to be certain without more photo's including the reverse, but the bar looks very "new", and also looks like it could have been put together from various loose parts, the way the individual ribbons "sit" together is not giving me a good feeling........
Could be wrong, but I personally wouldn't buy it from the pic!

You are probably right Nigel. I didn't get it anyway. It was the sea battle badge that put me off.
