57 S&L RK- marked on bottom cross arm

    Hi Guys

Just got this pretty nice S&L cross in which I would guess would date to late 1960's, early 70's? It has a really wide loop- is that correct for this style? Also how common are they with the 800 stamp located at the bottom of the cross?

    Many thanks for your help

    Patrick

      Hi Patrick!!
Certainly an S&L made RK, but somewhat later than you first thought!
I am guessing the core is non-magnetic? The finish on the frame, and the paint on the core point to a piece from the 80's at least I would think, the extra long and thin loop is also typical of a later RK.
The core details look crisp, and a decent job on the frame cutting and alignment, so still a collectable, albeit later S&L RK, the 800 mark can be found on top or bottom arms!!

Wow, when I read the title I got really excited - but clearly this is a later cross, as Nigel pointed out.
Was hoping to see another bottom marked early "B" frame 1st pattern by St&L - not easy one to find, trust me !

Patrick, as already stated a later cross the so called "D" frame St u L RK ....with the long loop and flaky paint job it is probably from the 1990's, as Nigel has stated these later crosses can be found stamped on the top or bottom, I have two "925" marked RK's one marked at the top the other on the bottom !
          Prost ! Steve.
