    CCC Question

I recently acquired this early S&L CCC.

My question is regarding the pin.

It is silver and not bronze like the rest of the clasp.

Maybe the colour was woren off through wear?

    Hi Wayne, lovely early example!!
It appears to be quite common to find either the pin, or the whole hardware set-up to be in bare metal on Bronze CCC's..... I think the Bronze wash was probably on there originally, but maybe didn't adhere to the different metal on the hardware, compared with that of the body of the CCC itself???
    Couple of similar examples.........

Only a guess on my part Wayne
Are there any traces of Bronze finish on your CCC's pin???

I have seen many very early bronze CCC´s with that silver pin. About 95% had the silver one. So nothing´s wrong here.

The only part that shows a bronze/gold colour is at the junction of the
hinge and pin. The very top part of the barrel.
