    Hmm.... that's quite strange anyway...

So far I've seen a few different variants of Souval Luftwaffe PAB:
    1) silver painted wreath and eagle / clear tank
    2) silver painted eagle and tank / clear wreath
    3) silver painted tank / clear wreath and eagle
    4) gold (?) painted wreath and eagle / clear tank
    6) gold (?) painted wreath and eagle / silver painted tank
    7) gold (?) painted wreath / silver painted eagle and tank
    8) silver (and gold?) painted wreath ang eagle / black painted tank
    9) silver (and gold?) painted eagle / black painted wreath and tank
    10) black painted wreath / silver (and gold?) painted eagle and tank
    11) clear tank, wreath and eagle

I suppose there are few more variants.....

It's strange, because this bagde has only one class. So why there is such variety?

Its a good question. Why so many configurations. Makes for interesting collecting that's for sure.

The basic Luftwaffe Panzer badge actually has 2 classes. A silver one (silver wreath) was intended for panzer crews. A black one (black wreath) was intended for grenadiers, reconnaissance and medical. I believe that both styles had a black tank.

Souval definitely was not consistent, but I have seen both types with the black tank.

Today came to me a repro eagle - it have quite nice quality.

Now I just must to make the rivets for him to make no harm to the badge itself

              Repro eagle on my Souval:

                    Thank you
I decided to make no rivets but prongs, it will be much easier.

Gentlemen, arrived in this mornings post, my Souval LW PAB, a rather inexpensive addition to my Souval collection..........I would say early 1960's due to Souvals pin/hinge and a St u L type "C" catch.....IMO this is a nice die stamped version as opposed to die cast, the rear being smooth and devoid of pock marks etc.......having a sharp crisp details and edges.
Bought at a good price due to the number plaque missing, a big thanks to Micheal (mpiering) !............but I had one in my parts box, a "25" so with the aid of some acetone and super glue, problem fixed !
                            Hope you like it !
                            Prost ! Steve.
