    Souval Observer badge

A quick question for the Souval collectors. Did Souval make a post war Observer badge with the bent pillars rather than the rivets holding the bird in place? I've managed to find two nice examples of the PO and the Radio/ Gunner badges with this set up and would like to complete the set in the fashion if such a thing is possible.

Found the answer, Mathijs has/ had one in his collection. They're an interesting variation.

      Hi Tony,

Could you post images of the PO and ROAG when you get a chance?

      Best,

      Jeff

Here are some badges of Souval's Pilot and Pilot Observer series.

          1. Pilot Badge

          2. Pilot Observer Badge

          3. Pilot Observer Badge with Diamonds (white Saphires in Souval's variant)

The one I have coming appears to have solid wreath (as with your PO), and bird. Alex these are lovely examples you have. I had no idea they did the diamonds as well.

And a second one, though the gilding has faded quite a lot .... I presume this is a normal Pilot ( not P/O )

The set up for the two I've found is as on the last shot with the ROAG marked as L/58. Though the PO certainly looks to be one, the gold and silver seems to have come off the rear. It may be that both the wreath and bird were painted at some stage and began life like the last shot as a Pilot badge. I'm not sure though and am not worried about it. I'll post it when it arrives for people to make suggestions about. Either way it's a nice example at a very very reasonable price from a good seller.
