    Horse driver badge - mini

    Hi Guys!

Can you please help me determine age and the value of this one. It's 3 cm in diameter...

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Gebirgsjaeger,

you posted it twice, but in the wrong sections.
    The correct section is here:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...play.php?f=110

I think, that it is an early post war badge, named "Deutsches Fahrerabzeichen Klasse IV" or "Kleines Fahrerabzeichen".

      Hi Bata!
Please feel free to post your badge here, as it fits in nicely with 57 and other postwar related pieces!

        Thanks Uwe, thanks Nigel!

Uwe, I'm sorry for posting this tread into the wrong sections, I know there was not "57" version of rider badges but I had an info that there were riders badges before TR when "R" was put on, afterwards it was put off again... There are some age on this badge but I was not sure - how much?

Nigel, I do not think it deserves to be on 3 places... 2 is more than enough. Or does it?

Thanks again! Well, I can move it wherever you want, just I have to make a note that "you asked for it!"

                Hi Gebirgsjaeger,

"I had an info that there were riders badges before TR when "R" was put on, afterwards it was put off again..."

I read it also, but without any period source I don't believe it.

As I know, the rider and the driver badges started in 1930.
In my collection in an early award book for the "Deutsche Reiter-Abzeichen" with entries from April 1931.
The booklet with the rider badge on the first page show the badge with the R.

This is an information from a member of the "other" section

Uwe, I believe you're right, which means there was actually no good reason for removing "R" considering it was not related with TR, but it was a hard time...
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
