LW Flak Display 1957 StuL Badge

    Hi All,

Just wanted to give my friends in the 57er section a quick look at a LW Flak display which I set up for a Military History club. The actual base used was different, however this will give you the idea. I substituted in a St&L produced 1957 LW Flak badge with solid hinge block and small "o" mark on the reverse.

You can almost hear the 88!

    Best,

    Jeff

I like this display. I collect photos of these displays, even from the net, let me share two of my favorites here. Can I also say that the shoulder boards are not matching to the collar tabs? Those ones are Heer Artillerie ones (I mean the pair). Sorry if I am wrong, just wanted to ask.

Excellent work and very skilfully executed !
I have always been envious of people who can paint and detail such as the work shown by both Jeff and Andrew ! It would appear I am all fingers and thumbs at this type of thing..................
Jeff, a great way to display 57ers
          Prost ! Steve.

              Hi All,

Thank you for the positive comments! The 88mm Flak is a die cast set in 1/32 scale that I have added a little extra detailing. I normally build in 1/48 scale for aircraft and 1/48 and 1/35 scale for armor. I wish I had more time as I am only putting out about 2-3 models per year. Just finished a Pz.Kpfw. III , maybe I will do better in my retirement years, if I make it that long.

@Andrew: incredible dioramas! I have only built a couple over the years, however they are great fun! I will have to check on the Hauptmann boards as they came as a set with the shown tabs and this is the first time I have taken them out. When I originally set up the display I used a real nice set of minty LW Flak Oberleutnant tabs/boards. Boards for me are one of the toughest areas of collecting as there are so many variants and very subtle differences, especially between LW and Heer.

@ Nigel, Tom, Steve, and Pink: Thank you all for the comments!

              Best,

              Jeff

Hi Jeff, I'm a 1:35 Panzer man myself, with a couple of 1:16s thrown in. I love the flak display. Very nice dioramas as well. There are some modelling masterpieces out there.

I see some beauties at the SOS. Some are for sale and seem to sell very fast ! If I were just starting to collect I would have many displays like yours! Of course I'm not talented enough myself to make them, but I'd save my money to buy them ! Tom

I would love to have one of those Königstiger to chase the dog around the yard.

Most know me as a LW guy, but I am a Panzer guy too!
