    57er DKiS..........

Gentlemen, my DKiS, not the earliest, but I would age at 1960 on to mid 1960's..... a St u L made piece...red enamel ring with superbly frosted KvK with swords, and the highlights polished, has a wonderful dark copper sunburst....solid hinge, small "C" catch and tapered pin. The sun burst is more of a copper colour than shown in the images, much nicer in hand.....All in all a nice earlyish example.
    Prost ! Steve.

        Another nice piece Steve!!
I think your dates are about right perhaps more mid than early 60's due to the presence of the large, round headed hingepin, which isn't used on the earliest tapering pin pieces!!
Detail and finish look really good, and we all know early DKiS' are very hard to find, so a scarce and desirable DK you have there Steve!
A treat for the eyes, as have been all the medals and badges you have shown us recently!!!!

A lovely DKiS by St&L, not so easy to find nowadays.

Personally I got lucky that I was able to purchase an early version.

These are just beautiful. I still prefer the swaz though. I'd love to get a postwar S&L with the swaz. The TR ones are way beyond me.
