    Austrian "mix" medalbar

    Hi guys!

Nigel and Mike - You wanted it this way...

I also have most of the documents for this medalbar. This man the leader of a local veterans organisation.

Hope it will find Your interest, although it is mixed WWI, WWII and post WWII.

    Kind regards, Peter

      Hi Peter!!
What a great bar, covering a long period of many years!! WW1/WW2 and postwar!!
Quite a few interesting things here, on both the medals themselves and the order!!
A Great selection of OKB medals, what i find unusual (for me anyway!) is that the 39-45 Commemorative Cross is in last place, after the OKB medals, on all the bars i've got and i think seen, the 39-45 cross is before?? On the cross itself, i see a makers name, i'm guessing thats Schwertner???
I see the vet used his wartime zinc KVK2 flipped over instead of buying a replacemet 57er, quite a few did that from what i've seen!!!
thanks for showing Peter, a great piece of Austrian military history!!!!!

Thanks for Your kind comment! I make my pics with a scanner and therefore it's nearly impossible to show more details of this bar. Sorry.

        Kind regards, Peter

          Hi Nigel!

          Thanks for Your interest!
Your are right, it is unusual to wear the "WWII commemorative Austrian cross" in the last place, unfortunately I don't know why this man did that. He got the cross in 1957, many of his medals were awarded later; and yes, the maker-mark is "Schwertner".
It's not unusual to wear the 3rd-Reich-awards by the way of changing the backside to the front, I will show some in the future.

          Glad, You like the bar!

          Kind regards, Peter
