When I started this thread so long ago, I never dreamt it would still be going strong 7 years later!!
This must be the best collection of photo's of veterans wearing their 57ers anywhere.....and its all thanks to Augustin (Sepp), who keeps finding such great images!!
Thank you Augustin, on behalf of all of us!!!!!!

That’s an amazing photo. The priest??? is a religious so I’m very surprised he was able to even keep let alone wear his TR versions of his awards (or any awards at all for that matter).

This priest may well be, or have been, a Chaplain in which case he could still wear his military awards. I have seen US military chaplains wearing their awards on their stoles when in religious robes.

I recall another image of a different priest who had taken Holy Orders after the war; I am pretty certain there was an image of him wearing his EKI.

EDIT: I must have mixed up my memories! I was probably thinking of Kriegspfarrer Eduard Putz. He was awarded the Gold Party Badge, EKII, KVK I & II w/Swords, and the Ostmedaille. No photos of him wearing his decorations.

Fürthwiki article in German about Eduard Putz
Eduard Karl Johannes Putz (geb. 9. Januar 1907 in Altenschönbach bei Wiesentheid; gest. 22.

Quite true for diocesan priests, but I’m not sure about those in Religious Orders such as the Franciscans or Benedictines etc. it would be interesting to know if the fellow in the first picture was in fact a Religious.
