Generalmajor a.D. Gerhard Deckert, EKI-EKII and Ost Medal.
During the he held the rank of SS-Untersturmführer in the "Das Reich" Division. At the time when the war ended he was only twenty one years old. He joined the new German Army in 1956 and eventually became a General Major and the Chief of Staff of the German Land Forces Command.Comment
