              Checking files

Hello all, I have been trying to ID these "missing named" RKT's. The OdR reunions I attended were in the late 70's & early 80's. I know I have seen or met many of these RKT's, I just have to dig through my files & photos. The 3 reunions I attended there were 3 to 4 hundred RKT's at each one, so this will take some time. Tom

A rare photo of the funeral service for SS-Brigadeführer Kurt Meyer, on December 23th, 1961.

I don't know if the ever wore any '57 medals; and this picture isn't very clear.

More than 4000 veterans attended the funeral.

Hello Sepp, GLAD you're back !! You are correct, this is a rare photo. I have only seen acouple of Meyer's funeral. Also I've never seen a pic of him wearing any medals taken postwar. His funeral pillow "probably" had 57 awards on it. (but who knows)?? I have met a few RKT's who were in attendence, but I never thought to ask them about certain details. Thanks, Tom

The funeral pillow with the awards of Generalfeldmarschall Albert Kesselring, buried in 1960 and given a military ceremony. I don't know if the former GM ever wore any '57 medals...

Also, if you look closely, you'll see that the soldier carrying the pillow is wearing a '57 ribbon bar
