You must have a huge autograph collection, together with some spectacular memorabilia ! thanks for sharing your experiences !!
    Thanks ! Steve.
Thanks Steve, Yes, the last count on my signed RKT photos was 1,155. I haven't received any additional for over 15 years however. I have an offer on all but my favorite 100 that I probably will accept. If so they will be sold by this Monday. The buyer is in transit. I don't need the money, but at my age it's just time while I can put it away for my Daughter. Tom

Yes I agree. If it were the DKis it would be WAY out of order on the bar. On a Generals bar I can't see that happening. Tom

This was posted on the Axis History Forum (I found interesting the part about his medals)
During Wunsches interrogation in the London cage dated September 7th 1945 he was asked what decorations he was wearing as follows:

Q.147 - What decorations do you wear?

A.147 - The Oak leaves to the Knights Cross, the wounds medal, the Iron cross 1st Class, 2nd Class and Assault badge and the German Gold Cross.

That seems to contradict the story that he buried his decorations at Falaise - with regard to him being rude to 'autograph requesters' I'm sure he was fed up signing those and then seeing them being sold on at a price - he had every right to be cranky IMO - no disrespect to the person asking, but I'm sure that practice got tedious for him and he wasn't interested in sorting the honest requester from the one's out to make a quick buck.

I'd personally have loved to have talked to him, history was made before his eyes as he served with AH, fought on the Eastern and Western fronts, severed 4 years in captivity and then made something of himself in Germany post war. Much of what has been written about him on Wiki is incorrect, he was married before his capture. I have several sources that state he married in 1944 including his answers to questions put on the subject in his interrogations and that his first son was born when he was in captivity. I also have an interview he gave in 1971 explaining the reason for his dismissal from Hitlers service. He's a very interesting character and its a pity a bio has never been written. There is a picture of him in his SS file with his oakleaves, which were only awarded a few days before his capture - I've posted it on the AHF, the conclusion of many is that it was faked by the media of the time but its still an interesting picture and the only one that I've ever seen.

Just for your info: He was an ass to everybody, and was not well liked by many of his fellow RKT's (as was told to me by one of them)
