Nice S&L Knight Cross with case

hello 57 friends, here is my latest catch from 2012, it´s a really nice B typ frame with 1st pattern core. there is no knee flaw at the 9 o´clock arm and the dents are very small i think. the frame and the loop have a 800 stamp, is it possible that the loop is wartime ????

spezial thanks to the forum member for the nice case

hope you like the RK as much i do
    Olli

              Hello Olli,

Good buy, although its not a "B" frame, but later "C" frame.
For the "B" frame you need the "knee flaw, dent row and beading flaw", yours only shows the dent row, so "C" frame.

From what I can see I believe a magnetic first pattern core, frame nicely marked "800".
The loop is IMO a replacement and not 1957er ... looks like the ones you find on eBay.

The etui - I wonder where you got it - is a mid production piece with flat bottom.

All in all, a nice and clean set ... the KC looks familiar, maybe I once owned it ( but with original loop ) ... .

thanks mathijs for the c type info. i have no problem with the loop haha. yes the case fits good.
my info was that all c type crosses have a ugly ring....

                  Hi Olli!!
Nice RK!! As Mathijs said, this is the "C" frame, not the "B", one easy way to tell them apart is the circular hole for the suspension loop,on a "B" the bottom part of the circle finishes level with the top edge of the frame, on a "C" frame like yours, the bottom part of the loop circle "dips" into the frame!!
This combination, while maybe not as desirable, is i think, actually rarer than the Ist pattern core and "B" frame combination!!
I dont think the loop is a wartimer, though it would'nt hurt to post closeups in the Crosses of the Wehrmacht section!!!
The case is nice too, making for a great set!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree on the loop and also don't think that it takes anything away.
