As already stated, the name of the veteran is unknown, but I'm hoping to find out.
A ribbon would have helped, as I'm convinced that not all the awards are there.

After a bit of research couple of names have popped up, most of them were also awarded the DKiG and the Ehrenpokal .

Since my research skills are far beyond ... well .... zero, I'm hoping for input from you guys.
Matthias has already been so kind to forward me some interesting and resourceful links .

Thanks for looking, hope you like what's been shown here.

Mathijs a fantastic grouping for sure im of the mind that the veteran would have had a dkig definalty with at least 600 flights (thats pushing it a bit)

        Hi Mathijs!!
What a truely wonderful group, it really is, and well worth the wait!!
So many nice pieces, so many early pieces, great to see the full sets of WB's, flight clasps and pendants!!
I'm also with you on the RK, its not damage it is personalization, and it makes this RK unique!!! If we knew any RKT's who attended re-unions etc. the vet with the modified RK might have been well known among them!!
Of course i especially love the EK's both very early and pretty hard to improve on, no worries on the EK2 having no MM, i'm sure even the earliest were'nt all marked!!!
Although you would expect the guy to have recieved the DK too, its possible that did'nt, several highly decorated RKT's never got the DK, so widening the search to include non DK winners might be worthwhile?
I really hope you can eventually put a name to the group Mathijs, that would make it an even more importatnt piece of history!!
Thanks for showing, and congrats for landing it!!!!!

Well, in my cigar boxes i never found such a great grouping...only old cigars covered with dust

That is a wonderful grouping with a very special RK. For the one it´s a damaged one and for others a very special personalized piece. The flight clasps are totally great and with the pendants together a stunning set.

Hope you someday will find the name of that guy

Congratulations Mathijs on a FANTASTIC grouping! I truly hope you can add a name at some point, but even with out it, it's still a most wonderful group!

Every piece is early and fine! I see some animal glue peeking out around the bottom of the center piece on the silver recon clasp. All three are early IMO and the hangers are exquisite in quality!

Would you be kind enough to provide a diameter thickness on the pin on the Pilot's badge? I'm curious about it. It's a beautiful piece and as I've said before, 57er Pilot's badges are just not that often seen given the number awarded during the war.

All in all, a group that could ONLY be upgraded with the addition of a name, which I suspect will happen before too much time passes. There simply can't be that many RKT Recon pilots with 600 missions and the GWB! What a man your RKT is or was! Nothing short of amazing!

              Again, congrats Mathijs!

Oops! It's a form letter he uses for all his products, most of which are indeed pre-1945.

Once again, great group Mathijs! All top shelf stuff!

                            Fantastic group!

Just wandering, if the vet glued the swaz to the gross - what was the purpose of holes? Did any small swaz have prongs?

Thanks for your kind words .... I've tried positioning the small swastikas.
I assume that glue did not help at a certain point, so holes were drilled to accommodate small screws are metal studs to keep it in place.

This leads me to believe that the veteran was stripped of his wartime awards during imprisonment ( POW ), and felt strong and proud on his awards to paste / screw custom made swastika's on them .... .

Speculation, although it sounds plausible ....

Edit ..... finally found a good way to display the awards
