Yes the masking was indeed very good, in most cases you can detect if the swastika have been erased.

Like Nigel, I have never seen a 57 KVM on a medalbar, so I was very excited when this came up. I also noted that the metal used looked wartime, but I thought that it could be a very early produced 57er medal.

Two weeks ago I managed to buy the FLAK badge below for a very good price, so it seems that everything comes back to you, one way or another.

You should not be too disappointed Karl, there are not many examples of medal bars with the KVM. Here is an old thread I saved. As you can see not many examples.

You are correct Pierce, Even wartime bars with KVM are seldom seen, so I have decided to eat the disappointment and keep this bar for my collection. It will join two other KVM bars that I own.

Thanks to all of you guys.

I´m starting to feel a bit better now

It was quite different, 6 hours ago when I opened the parcel, saw the content and threw the medal bar on the table, screaming " I knew it was to good to be true", while my wife looked at me and whispered with a smile "Was there something wrong with your little medal thing"
