Nigel, nice looking combo, but I got some thoughts.
First I don't think this is a "period" combo, mainly 'cause the ribbon doesn't look from this pics to be original. Check it with a UV light. [but I'm pretty sure that this is a modern repro].
Second is about the cross. It is nice original one with uncommon "N" mark! But it seems to have a repainted core. I can see straight lines of painting between core and frame, and brutal traces of the brush on the core (mainly on W cypher).
Check it yourself in a hand, myabe I'm wrong, because I'm saying it only from this pics.

Hi Patryk!!
Thanks for your thoughts!! I've looked at the core closely, and there seems to be no sign of a repaint? The paint is the same all over the cross, back and front, a sort of textured semi-gloss, maybe its the lighting on the pics??
I've done the burn test on the ribbon, and it burns to ash, it does'nt melt like modern ones, so while the ribbon might not be original to the cross, i think it probably is the same age as the Spange??

Well, maybe it is from late 30's ? For sure not Imperial or Weimar era.
Thanks for additional photo! But it just assured me that core might be repainted.
Look at this close ups:
1. narrow areas between core and frame that are not painted. They has a straight line (as from a paintbrush). Imperial makers painted cores before puting all three parts together, so all of the core should be painted - that one have some unpainted leftovers on both arms (left and right).
