eBay 1st Pattern RK Fake

Just a quick word of warning on this 1st Pattern RK.

IMO it is a fake. Pretty well made, but nonetheless a fake. The font used for the numbers is incorrect (for example the top portion of the 9's are much rounder) and the center of the oak spray is also off. I'll let the frame experts weigh in on the frame, but to my eyes, it matches none of the known variants.

The price should be an indicator as well. No real 1st Pattern RK would sell so cheaply.

Sadly, someone has placed a bid. I hope it's no one from our happy family. If it is, retract it before it's too late.

If you look at what else he is selling, he has quite a few listings of EK parts and some fake insignia.

Regarding by the 57er law this is not a fake

IT IS allowed for everyone to produce 57ers.

BUT.....and Mike is of course right.....it is NO piece that we would add to our collection.
It´s a RK that tries to look like a 1st pattern made by S&L and so we shouldn´t spend any money on it. It is a reproduction of an S&L.

Actually wanted to make the vendor on offer to buy this fake, so I could make good comparison.
Now some-one has bid 250 USD ... they can have it ... shame for buyer.
