DKiS Cloth Version

Gentlemen,

I am always striving to learn new things about 57ers!

I came across this cloth German Cross in Silver on my online travels. It is the first I have encountered.

Where these made in cloth version post-war?
Does anyone have other examples they could share?

Hi Pierce,

This one is not anything collectible and didn't come from any of the accepted 57er herstellers. No "official" cloth version of the DK's have ever been seen to my knowledge.

It's also incorrect in it's makeup in that it has a gold wreath on what is supposed to be a DKiS.

This cloth version showed up on eBay about five years ago, if my memory serves me correctly. I actually saw one for sale on eMedals not too long ago and for an ungodly price!

I agree with Mike on this...I have seen a few for sale over ther years, but I'm sure they are the type of thing that crooks must sit up nights trying to figure out yet another way of fleecing money out of people ! MO, Tom
