I can't believe the weight of this badge. I don't have a scale so when I do I will let you know.

Haha, Rudy! You crack me up buddy!

After much study, I could find not even one FJ that had been awarded the BKA pre-45, so this not so little guy was the odd man out in my collection.

And yes, my weakness for FJ stuff has caused me to do things that some might consider crazy. Oh well, to each his own, right?

I'm glad you're pleased with the badge. It's a stunner to the nth degree. I've seen very few 57er badges finished as nicely as this piece. I've seen some RK's and DK's with similar quality and some Assman LGAB's that are close, but this is most certainly a special piece.

              Enjoy it brother!

                Thanks everyone.

Pierce - I did enough dark alley transactions when I was in the Navy. I'm too old for that now. Can't run fast enough.

Nigel - You are absolutely right. There isn't much more to say. I can't wait to display when I get my frames.

Tom - Maybe with some other badges I might have a weakness but I have always admired this badge from afar because I can't afford the TR's. So, this is the next best thing.

Mike - Thank you buddy. I really appreciate it.

                Regards
                Rudy

                    Wow

Congrats, Rudy.....you for sure know what an excellent and super rare beauty you added to your first class collection

Why Mike gave that beauty away? Well, i was many times in the same situation. Having a top piece that doesn´t really fit but being rare........shall i give it away or keep????
I always gave them away and in most cases i could add something special that fitted to my collection field.
I understand you very well, Mike. But i think it was not easy, or?

Rudi, you got yourself a very beautifull badge
And nice to see that S&L made it with a lot of attention.

                      Congrats!

And compared to the other badges it is so HUGE.

                        Hi Rüdiger,

It was very difficult, just because of the rarity and beauty of the piece. There are so very few nice and early BKA's that made it petty tough.

But then, in some ways it was easy in that it's not an FJ piece and because I knew it was going to good collector friend who would love and appreciate it more than I would. When it came to deciding between the BKA and that crazy rare FJ badge I'm currently impatiently waiting for it was very easy.
