    Dealer Update

    http://www.falleneagle.com/home.php

Just listed 8 '57 awards - items 8471-8478. Dealers prices I know, but still interesting to see what's out there.

That's good news. Sadly, It's one of those websites that remove items as soon as they are sold, so the pics of your badge have gone!

No worries, will be posted here once safely in my hands ... was glad to finally find one under 100 € .
It was - by the way - the only early badge on his update ... sorry guys.

Maybe it's just me, but the '57 Anti Partisan War Badge seems to be the worse re issue ever. There seems to have been no real care taken with the quality, unless early ones are better. I'm surprised it was re issued at all given it's background.

              Hi reichenberg,

"I'm surprised it was re issued at all given it's background."

It is not really important, but it was not re issued. There was only the allowance, to wear the badge in a denazified look.

Before the German law from 1957 there had been several, sometimes heated debates about the opportunity, to include the "Bandenkampfabzeichen" as wearable in the law.
Because it was not a "Wehrmacht" badge, it was a "SS und Polizei" badge.

But veterans organizations want to include it, because it had been awarded to "Wehrmacht" soldiers too.

Many Germans think, not only I think so, that this was a severe fault, because this badge was awarded not only for real partisan actions!

And here is the Glider Badge I got off that dealer .... I really must thank member "Reichenberg" for the heads up .

These Glider badges are not often found, especially in this earliest St&L version .

Wonderful, rare, early Glider badge Mathijs
As nice an example as i've seen!! These early ones are really hard to find, you did right to snap it up straight away, might be a while until the next early one turns up!!!
                  Great find!!!anim_19.gif

thirdreichmedals.com: There are some pieces not belonging to the 1957 section, e.g. copies of the Eastern People's Medal of Merit.

philipp-militaria.com: The same as before, e.g. a copie of the cuff title Kurland and a copy of the armshield Lappland.
Furthermore you can find there several pieces not belonging to the 1957 section, and they are also not copies of the TR pieces. They are normal and official post war badges like Reiterabzeichen and Fahrerabzeichen.

history-shop.de: The same as before, a few pieces not belonging to the 1957 section. For example the "Preussen Abzeichen für Flügeladjudanten" is a modern and worthless Goede copy.

                            Always be careful!

I agree with Uwe on the above ...

Jamie Cross Militaria ... rarely this chap sells good 1957 issue awards
Philipp Militaria + History Shop ... I'm regular customer there ... two good guys.

But like Uwe says, always do your homework, even buying from a reputed dealer.
