    De-nazified KVK1

    Hi guys! Its not often i'm totally fooled by a piece, but this one got me!!
    When i saw the sellers pics, i thought (hoped) that it was a mega rare 57 KVK1 by Deschler!!
    It looked like it used wartime parts etc.
    But.......its actually a de-nazified wartimer!!!!
    I guess it was done by the original vet owner? It looks like the swastika has been filed off, and the central disc filled with silver solder, then a hot needle or similar has been used to make tiny holes in the solder, you have to look very closely to see!!
    When i realised it was'nt a 57er, i was disapointed, but i think its growing on me a bit!!!!

            Someones taken a lot of time and care in removing that swastika and made a first class job of it. It can only have been done with the intention of wearing it in the post war period in my opinion, otherwise why go to all that trouble?

              Looks like the swaz was grounded away and the owner "pitted" the core which was left.
              To me looks like a perfect 100% wartime Deschler badge which got the "57er treatment".

              Good purchase, my friend, yet another variation added .

                    Yes, I like it too! Maybe not the piece you wanted to purchase but a nice piece of history!
                    And I second the opinion that it was changed to wear it as official 57er... wearing the original badge I was awarded with during the war although it was changed would be much more desirable for some men then wearing a "replica" .
