    57 Oakleafs question.

    Hi guys,i have a question about 57 version Oakleafs.

    Is there such a thing as known and recognizable Oakeafs made after 57 ?

    My understanding this would be one of the easiest thing to fake,but just wondering if any of you have any info about it and perhaps can share pictures of known originals.

    attached is pictures of Oakleafs offered for sale on dealer site,there is only obverse and 800 mark,can this be real deal ?

      ]Hi Eddie!!
      There are a couple of die flaws on early S&L postwar Oaks, and these can be seen on the example you posted!
      I've marked them on the pic......1.jpg
      Theres a curved line, between the leaves on the left, and a small thin "blob" that appears between the leaf and vein on the right!!
      The "800" mark also looks good to me, it might also have the "0" mark on the reverse, that many early pieces by S&L did!!
      IMO good!!!!

        Indeed these are postwar S&L oaks. Nigel correctly showed the typical flaws.
        But for that price what the seller wants....no way.......much to expensive.

        You have to remember that these are "only postwar fakes" by the law

        Many of us (me too) find these early postwar oaks and oaks/swords, made by S&L, collectable as these were attached to 57er knights crosses and they were by by a producer who still made them in wartime. But 220€ is way too much money...IMO.

            IMO indeed a good example of the "57er" oaks, but way too expensively priced .
