    Hi Nicolai!!
Many thanks for posting this RK, which i think is a very interesting piece for many reasons!!
I've marked a couple of area's on the frame that i'd like to see closeups of, if possible? The one on the left, looks like it is the "bleedover" from the beading and onto the frame, the one on the right, could be remains of the dent row?
If these features are on the frame, then it could be earlier than i originally thought??
Its certainly a "C" frame with the dipping ring, the finish on the frame, made me think it was 1980's, but i'm not sure??
It could be an earlier frame, finished much later??
Nicolai, is the swastika part of the core, or a seperate piece???
Its fascinating to me, that it was still possible to buy an RK with swastika from S&L at such a late date!!!
    -Nigel
Is the swastika part of the core Nicolai, or is it a seperate piece??P1030336.jpg

      S&l

It is not my cross ad least not yet. Something happened to the front of the core....
Is it possible that this made as a 1957 cross, and upgraded 1939 style???

I remember reading a few years back that someone was buying up early '57 RKs, disassembling them and removing the oakleaves and replacing them with a swastika and trying to pass them off as original wartime pieces. I think it may have been in one of Robin Lumsdens books.

            Good call Ray!!
Looking at the pics, its possible thats whats happened with this cross?
A close look at the swastika seems to show a gap underneath it, around the bottom edge where it sits on the core, also, there seems to be scratches on the core, and a possible repaint???
