I fear you have been swindled on this piece ... seems like the Morigi fake .
Core & frame cut is not as to be found on early 2nd pattern S&L.
      Never seen a loop marked "21" "800", only "800".

Just my two cents that its a no-no, I hope others will chime in ...

Hi Paul!! I'm afraid Mathijs is right, this is a Morigi fake
If you compare it with some good S&L 2nd pattern RK's. you'll notice a few differences, one of the most obvious is the style of the "1939" quite thin on this one, much fatter on an S&L, differences too in the oakleaves and acorns, and as Mathis said the MM is wrong!!

Being no expert on '57 RKs it was really the date that gave it away in my eyes. There are a number of online dealers now who have fake EK II 1939 on thier websites all sold in good faith for the most part, but the thin and rather untidy numbering stands out like a sore thumb once you have seen lots of originals.

                  Hi Matthias,

I've asked Paul to send me good pix of this RK ... once received ( and time in hand ) will make a thread on these on how to distinguish them from S&L 2nd pattern core pieces .... .

Great idea Mathijs, even though they've been around a while Morigi fakes can still fool collectors, with their three piece construction and magnetic core!!
