i just bought this boxed ek1, i was just wondering if anyone would roughly know what era this one was made?

Hello

The case looks to be a modern made reproduction item, and the EK1 is also of more modern production, I'd suggest around the late 1980's early 1990's, or perhaps even slightly later than that.

No, I don't believe so. These cases are frequently offered by a certain German dealer, who sells some excellent items, but has a habit of pairing up 57 pieces with these modern made repro cases. In fact, they used to sell (probably still do) these, and other cases, in a section on their website as repros. So no, not original to the cross in my opinion.

Hello chaps they are mine . I just bought them with some other things from an auction and put them on the estand as I dont have an interest in post ww2 German things . So what are they 1957 Iron crosses or modern iron crosses or repo post ww2 1957 iron crosses or repo copy iron crosses with post 1957 repo cases or newly made iron crosses that have nothing to do with 1957 Iron crosses ? Hi Rob!! They are 1957 style, but modern made, you could buy these direct from Steinhauer and Luck up to quite recently, they may still even sell them?
They are poor in quality when compared to early pieces from the 1950's and 60's, the ones that the veterans would have bought and worn!!
