    1957 Knight's Cross

    Hi friends,
I received this 1957 Knight's Cross of the family of the wearer.
I would very much like to know from which year was the production of my cross?
The ribbon of the cross and the ring band I think is original from 1945!
    what say you?

That is one weird RK !!!!

The core seems to be a good 1st pattern core ( I assume magnetic ).
However the frame does not match any known examples ... could this be a wartime frame which had the swaz core changed by the 57er version ?

Loop & ribbon look indeed wartime, but I have no expertise on this ....
Also looks like the etui will be the 1st pattern 57er style one !!

        That one looks really weird

Maybe heavily worn but i marked some red flags for me......looks like the frame is gone there. How can that happen? Surely not from wear IMO.
Colour of the frame looks like buntmetall but seems to be very weak in hardness.
I am really confused but this is a RK you canĀ“t be sure.

          Hello

As has been said, a very strange new form RK. Not at all certain about the ribbon and loop being wartime - some more photos of the loop and ribbon would help.

You say you got this directly from the family of the owner of the RK. Aside from the family claiming that it belonged to someone in the family, is there any other provenance for this piece?

          Regards
          David

perhaps the frame is home made

Bumping this one ... its very intriguing ... could it be an EK2 core jammed into a " home made " RK frame ???

A shot of the '1813' would answer that question, I think.
