I finally found the solid back Steinhauer and Lück pattern and am looking for the hollowback version.

Bob, great find!! The early APB's are very tough to find. Here's two of mine -

Wonderful pieces, George. Of course, you have always had good taste when it comes to medals and badges.

Superb example of a scarce award Bob. A very nice piece with fine frosting and burnishing!

                  Outstanding rare piece Bob

Wonderful condition........and the burnishing.....mmmh, love it

You are speaking from a hollowback version. Do these ones really exist?
I have never heard about them and never seen one

Were the hollowback versions produced simultaneously to the flatback ones or later? Or maybe earlier?
Would be great if you can tell us more about these ones

Ah forgot...thanks for showing It´s always a pleasure to see these very early BKA´s

I thought the APB was verbotten in post war Germany.

Nope, it was one of the officially recognized '57 awards.

Not really sure if I'd call this a "hollowback" per se, but it is a different version just the same.
