    Hi Nigel,

the smilies above show my first thoughts....at first "Uiii, Grossdeutschland" then "boah, nice lookin group" at a least "Great catch buddy".

You did very well to buy that grouping. DonĀ“t care about if the pieces are early or mid. The history makes that one very special
I really love the pillow, looks great and is so "original".

Cross my fingers that you can get some photos....did you get his name ?

Looking forward to see here more

      Thanks for your comments Rudiger!!
The vets name was Paul Koslick, and i hope i can add some wartime photo's of him, i think that would bring the group to life!
      Cheers buddy

Interesting items ... as others said, it being a GD grouping, very interesting.
I'm quite happy to see it stays together, instead of being ripped apart and auctioned off somewhere ....

Again, I'm seeing here the "o" mark on top the EK1, IMO sign that S&L at later stage used the EK front frame both on their EK1 & EK2.

But how about that "dot" on the back of the GWB ( beneath the catch ) ... strange, have not seen that on any other GWB ...

Also the GAB, could it be a tombak made piece ? It looks a like a bronze color is peeping through ...

Hi Mathijs, thanks for your comments, and some good points you make!!
I have seen that "dot" on the reverse of another wound badge, and quite recently...cant remember where tho!! Could be in an old thread???
On the GAB, there is a bronze color showing thru the silver finish, the GAB is quite an interesting piece, some real weight to it, it has two "0" marks on the reverse, a small one near the catch, and a fainter, larger one in the middle, dont think it shows up on the pic! It also has a different pin more like the earlier style, i was surprised this one also had an open hingeblock, would have expected to find a solid one!!
