FJ Stickpin with KvkII Without Swords

When I joined the forum, I did so to learn, share, make friends. You know, like we all did. But the friendships I've gained here have so far surpassed my wildest dreams, it amazes me everyday.

My one of a kind friend Nigel, tried once to help me get this stickpin and just missed, but the pin surfaced for sale a second time and on his own he decided not only would he help get the pin, he just flat out gifted it to me! What can you say about a guy like that? Cheers to you Nigel! You're the best!

A very wise Dutchman once told me that the collectible mini medal bars and stickpins have three elements: Qualification awards, Bravery awards and Campaign awards and I certainly agree. This one has those elements and I'm very pleased to add it to my collection. One interesting twist is that it has a non-combat award! The KvkII without swords is unusual, but not impossible. Perhaps the man did war effort type work while convalescing after a wound? If you can think of a scenario in which a soldaten could have earned this award, please share it!

Thanks again to my English gentleman friend! Each time I look at this pin I'll think of you buddy!

Glad to see its arrived safely Mike!!smiley-chores025.gif
It was a pleasure to help you buddy, you've helped me many times in the past, and this was my way of saying thank you!!
If this stickpin belonged in anybodys collection Mike, it had to be yours!! I also agree with Luud, and think its an early one, some nice awards on there, and even though its only a 2nd class KVK, because its without swords, i think thats the most interesting one, i wonder how this hard fighting Para came to win a non-com award???
As already said, its great to see a guys whole combat/service history in such a small piece as this, nice addition to your collection Mike!!
