1st I've seen with the "o" mark

By the way, I read something recently about the 'o' mark.

I haven't been around for a while so forgive me if this is old news here in the 57 forum, but apparently the 'o' was something the dies included on the reverse of the decoration as a means of alerting the assemblers which way was "down," i.e., which end to attach the catch, etc. Nothing more, nothing less.

It doesn't seem so obvious on this piece, but it does on others. The 'o' is near the bottom of the piece. Multiple makers used it.
