Imperial style EK1

Got a couple of pieces today, heres the first, an S & L EK1, in the Imperial style!!
It has some charachteristics of S & L's 57er EK1's, but some differences too!!
The hardware and quality point to this being quite an early piece, i would guess, early 60's, but it has a non magnetic core.......medals 589.jpg

The reverse has a pretty much standard hinge and pin from this period, but it has what i call the "double" catch, which looks like two catches soldered together, side by side!
Dont kvow if all Imperial style EK1's from this period have thia style of catch, but all the ones i've seen have.....medals 587.jpg

Hey! That one looks really familiar!

A must for our EK king, A 57 period made Imperial EKI!!! Very nice Nigel! I know I've seen the double pig-tail catch before, but have not been able to find the picture to share.

I too find it interesting that although everything points to earlier manufacture, the core is non-magnetic. It's a good one, from the earlier years to be sure. Another great pickup for you buddy!
