Nice to see you got that one, Nigel ... also good price . Good idea to keep it cased.

Great detail on the stickpin ... amazing how much detail they can squeeze into such little thing .

Even more very nice pieces buddy! Woohoo! You really had a banner day!

Mathijs got it right about the detail on the mini's. Very nice stuff! That Ehrenblatt is a nice looker too! It's interesting that this award though not part of the EK/RK lineage, falls between the EKI and DK/RK.

As noted in the "Honor Clasps of the Wehrmacht" section of award description of the forum says...

"The Clasp was to be presented to all those members of the Heer and Waffen SS who committed acts of heroism or distinguished themselves by their honorable behavior. These acts, however, were of such of a degree that neither the Knights Cross to the Iron Cross or the German Cross could be recommended.

A prerequisite for eligibly was that the individual be in possession of both the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Class. It is estimated that 4,556 awards of the Heer clasp were presented before the end of the war.

Throughout the war years, several awards recognizing honorable acts that did not meet the criteria for the highest awards were instituted. These decorations provided the Wehrmacht leadership the ability to present awards on a broader scale without degrading the prestige of landmark decorations such as the German Cross and the Knights Cross. It is in this category of awards that the Roll of Honor Clasp of the Heer, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine fall.

It is ironic that due to their late institution they were not widely presented and are at least every bit as rare as their more prestigious counterparts they were meant to protect. It is also noteworthy to point out that although its method of wear would suggest a relationship to the Iron Cross, that is not the case, and the clasps should be considered a separate award."

Nice additions Nigel! Keep up the great work my friend!
