              Another group shot ...

Pix are not so good, I'm afraid ( gloomy weather and bad indoor lighting ).

                Very nice P/O badge Mathijs!!!
I think its still a quite early piece, solid hingeblock!! Its got the dome headed hingepin, which on EK1's at least, was'nt on the very early pieces(late 50's/early60's) but appeared not long after that!!! probably mid to late 60's onwards! So it might not be from the very first production, but its not a later one!!
Nice finish and condition to it too!!! And the group shot is really coolcool02.gif very nice badges you got there!!-Nigel

A super nice example of a not frequently seen badge Mathijs. I stand to be corrected, but based on what I see I'm thinking '65 at the latest. The domed hinge pin might suggest a tad later, but I don't think it's much later. Hopefully Peter, David or Luud will weigh in on it.

                    BTW-Love the glamour shots dude!

It´s the same as with my KM awards. The very early ones are so damned hard to find that we´ll have to take the early ones, when they come out from time to time. But these are as good and great as the very early ones. No differences in quality - only hardware.
The P/O badge is an absolut eye catcher which i would date to max. 1965.
Perfect group shot of your birds

Indeed a very nice P/O badge.
These are very hard to find, you did good to catch it.

Even with bad lighting you make great pics, Mathijs. Well done!!

                        Best regards

                          Hello

A very nice and early new form pilot observers badge As has been said, these are not that easy to find, and in all the time I've been collecting 57 items I've only ever seen three with the very early round pin. I'd say this one is from the 1960's, and within the first few years of production.

A great find, and one that anyone would be proud to have in their collection.

                          Regards
                          David

Those are fine badges Mathijs. Badges of this quality, die struck and burnished, was manufactured well before 1965. Thanks for showing them.

Thanks you all for these nice comments, guys ... much much appreciated .

Still looking for some other LW birds ... RO & RO/AG ... apparently these are quite hard to find in early form .
