    Early LW Flakabzeichen

    Hello gents,

I was able to add this nice piece recently. While not rare, one doesn't see a lot of New Form LW Flaks about. With the addition of this badge, to my knowledge, I now have all the qualification badges an FJ could have earned. There is an updated collection pic as the last post. If I've missed one, please let me know!

Note the flattened S&L "O" near the catch in the pic of the backside.

Please let me hear your thoughts...

This is how I display my pieces, in a shadow box hanging on the wall above my PC. This doesn't included my other CCC's, LGAB's, etc. They're well protected in a drawer of goodies and are often taken out and examined with thoughts towards the men who earned them and what they experienced in doing so. Great and brave men responding to their countries call to action.

          For my paratrooper bretheren...

Were the 57er Czech and Austrian annexation medals made/authorized?

                Hi Scott,

Nice to see you posting here.

No, the medals you asked about are not New Form pieces. I have a few TR pieces in my collection as FJ's were awarded them. The Czech medal, the Romanian anti-Communism medal and LW Marksmanship lanyard (de-Nazified by the owner) are all TR pieces.

                Thanks George!

Thanks Nigel and Peter! I appreciate the feedback and it's always good to hear from our moderator!

The eagle is soldered in place.

As far as what's next, I've got my first wartime FJ dogtag, a crazy rare wartime signed Walter Koch Willrich card, a wartime press photo of Hitler awarding Koch his RK after the Eben Emael, a wartime Rudolf Witzig Willrich card, a very rare, signed Bundeswehr portrait photo of Witzig and a postwar signed Witzig photo all in transit at this time. A slightly different focus yes, but still my FJ passion.

Check this photo I just found recently. It is supposed to be FJ RKT Alexander Uhlig's medal pillow. Given the items in the photo, I've got a few pieces left to go! An early Observer badge and some LW Transort Clasps! I had completely forgotten about the transport clasps! A good friend tells me I should consider a Retired Pilot's Badge as well as theoretically some of the older FJ's may have been awarded it. I'm looking for photographic evidence as it is indeed plausible.

These next few months, I don't anticipate adding many pieces for various reasons, but I'll still be here everyday hangin' with my friends!

That is indeed a nice quality Luft Flak.
I wouldn't hesitate to add it.

Thank you for showing. Good luck with the transporter clasps.
Is it me but am i missing a Para badge in your display? I see a Heeres Falli bu where did you hide the para badge?

                        Best regards

                          Thanks Stijn!

The LW Para is one of the pieces I mentioned that's tucked away, but often studied and appreciated. Here's a link to it >CLICK<

I like symmetry in my display so many pieces I have are not in the shadow box on the wall.

I think the Transport Clasps with wide pin will prove to be challenging to locate. I've had SEVERAL competant people all around the world looking for them for nearly a year now with no success.
