Finally my patience has been rewarded!
And it was worth the long wait. Check it out for yourself.

At first I thought the catch was resoldered but after a close inspection this isn’t the case.
This is an early exemple with a cut out behind the chimney. The pic in Krantz’s book also shows a cut out area so I think the ones without cut out are rather rare. But that’s just my 2 cents.

Early needle pin and thin catch, and its in great condition too!!
Interesting to see the cutout, i've seen early ones with this piece solid, but never given any thought as to wether one style is rarer than the other!!

That's a mightly nice blockade runner! The finish on the eagle is a lot like that style used on the WW2 versions.
