Well, today was a good day! I received a package from Germany with the expected Paul Bozenhardt attributed EKI. The seller had told me he was going to include a "few surprises in the package" and when I opened it I almost fell off my chair!
Included was the EKI, an Ost Medal, a KvKII, a Silver Wound Badge and copies of the award documents and photos of Paul!!! The SWB is super nice with very nice burnishing which I've never seen on a Wound Badge before! The KvKII and Ost Medal other than being attributed are nothing really special although the ribbons are UV negative so they're likely wartimers. The only "disappointing" thing is that the EKI is not vaulted as expected. There is an award doc for an EKII as well, but no EKII included. I've contacted the seller with gushing gratitude and to ask if the EKII is available. No word yet.
A couple items of note:
His last name is spelled differently on the EKI doc. There is a letter "t" before the "z."
The SWB is a super crisp strike with burnishing and yet has a wider pin.
This was completely unexpected and a tremendous blessing out of the blue!
