1957 Iron Cross, Knights Cross grouping.

Hey guys I have a new question for you guys. I have a grouping of an Iron Cross Second Class, Iron Cross First Class, Knights Cross and a miniature Knights Cross. All 1957 reissues. I know there are early and late variants of these medals so my question is do you guys know how to tell the difference?

Also if you guys have any idea of an approximate value of the medals I would be very appreciative.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

                  Nice items .... I like them .

                  RK : I assume a 3-piece construction with magnetic or non-magnetic core ?
The loop ( marked 800 ), I havent seen before like this. I guess this one might be mid-period produced.

EK1 : Seems to be a decent S&L. Does it have full hinge block or open hinge block ?

                  Mounted EK2 : IMO another decent S&L ( mid-period ? )

Mini : cant comment on that one, no experience on these

I'm sure the EK guys will give you different comments then mine ... I'm just guessing here .

Mounted EK II is a Deumer, maybe it's maker marked.

The RK looks ok, decent 2nd pattern S & L, cant see any die flaws..."c " frame??
EK1, S & L, has domed hingepin, and with that pin style, should have a solid hingeblock? Around early to mid 60's, say 62 to 65.
EK2, Deumer, nice parade mount around 1960 i should think, most Deumers EK2's were marked, so there should be a "3" on the ribbon ring!!
All nice pieces!!! Price is difficult, EK1 maybe 70 Euro's?? EK2 around 80/85 Euro's, RK, not sure on price!!!
I've no clue on the mini!!! -Nigel
PS... not sure about the loop on the RK, is it ok??, looks odd???

                        Hello

The EK1 and EK2 are good and early pieces. I also like the mini as well

The RK I'm not certain about. I've looked at this for a bit now and have alarm bells ringing. This looks to me very much like a couple of other 57 RKs that have been shown previously, supposedly 2nd pattern S&Ls, but in fact were nothing of the kind. I've found the threads I was thinking of (photos aren't too hot in the first thread):

See what you think by way of comparision. If possible, could you please post some full face on, clear and close in shots of the back and front.

                        Regards

Not sure, David!! That suspension loop looks all wrong, its got no double bend to it
The cross itself is not like a Morigi fake?? I thought it was an S & L piece, just not sure on date?? Do you think its wrong altogether??? -Nigel

No, not a Morigi, but yes, I think it's wrong altogether.

I'd agree with David; the RK looks like a repop, but the EKI and EKII are nice examples.
