    Last DKis

I have a lot on my mind lately, my Job and since my fathers dead also a business to run.
And thanks to the government that want 25% of the property in hard cash in March 2010 of the inheritage my wife and I have to work our a$$ off every hour till then.

I like to collect new form items (and appreciate the support of my wife) but till than a man (and woman) has to do what a man (and woman) has to do.

But I will be back in the future.
I only hope that the price range of the new form awards don't increase like it did the last year.

But before it is sofar, I will show you my last aquisition.
Not the earliest, but IMO still a very early S&L with an interesting painting feature.

I also do hope when I get more active again that you found the answer about the makers of the DK's.
Because the more I look at the ones that were attributed to Godet and Deschler, the more I get confused.
Did Godet actually made these or was it Deschler?
The attributed Deschler seems to have similarities with S&L, but also differences that are sofar not known from S&L.

I hope you guys will find it out because I am completely lost with those.
But I do know that this is a S&L

It's difficult to comment on your DKiS given the news that you will be absent for a while. You will be missed. I hope you will be able to work things out and still pop in to contribute. You've been a good friend through both good and bad times. I hope you feel the same. Come back soon Luud.

Very nice DKiS with interesting paint on the starburst.

            Hey Luud,

Not sure what this means. You will be absent from buying anything new, or absent from the forum, or both? It would be a shame to lose your input, for however long. Please clarify for us.

Don't worry guys, I am not leaving for good. Collecting is more addicting than smoking!
Just till around March next year I can't see where I can find the time to be here.
Maybe I drop by when I did find time, but it will be very sporadic.

Although I could sell off my collection so I can work a few hours less!
              Just kidding

So I won't have time to hunt something else. But that leaves more for you guys
But I still have got some good contacts, so most likely I will get some nice stuff to post next year.

Nice S&L DKiS! I think we can totally rule out Godet as they were out of business after the war. As I mentioned in a previous post, perhaps Deschler, S&L or some other firm ended up with their scraps/leftovers.

Do what you have to do and don't worry about us nerds on the WAF! We'll still be here when you come back.

I think you're basing this on the absence of mention in the 1958 book. They may indeed have been out of business then, but they seem to be back in business now, at:

                  Gebr. Godet & Co.
                  Wielandstraße 16
                  10629 Berlin, Germany
                  +49 30 3244223

...so somewhere along the line, they reopened shop. Who knows precisely what they do now, but I for one would like to know more about their history.
                  Best regards,
                  Streptile

                    Hello

A very nice and early S&L DKiS

I hope everything works out well for you Luud, and please keep dropping in on the forum from time to time. Look on the bright side, it could be a lot worse and you could live in England where inheritance tax is 40% of the value of the estate

Seriously, all the best and don't lose touch with the forum or any of us

                    Regards
                    David
