View of catch, usual thin flat wire early type, mounted higher up the backplate because of the short pin length......medals 476.jpg

                      Hello

A very nice and early new form EK Nigel I'm not certain that the catch is much higher, if at all, than it is on some other early S&L new form EKs. Mine has a longer pin, but the catch is identical and in pretty much the same spot.

                      Anyway, a really nice cross.

                      Regards
                      David

Nice one Nigel! It's a beauty!

                        The variant king strikes again!

                          Cheers David and Mike
You are quite right David, the catches on S & L EK1's do vary in their placement! But whereas the longer pin type could be mounted high or low, i meant this one had to be mounted higher, or else it would'nt hold the pin at all -Nigel

                            Uff, another S&L variant
It´s unbelievable how many variants of only S&L are out there.....but if we want to know which and how many we only have to ask our 57er EK king Nigel
Another great and very early EK for you...

Thanks Rudiger But you are right, sometimes with S & L EK's, there are more questions than answers!!!! I'm sure theres loads more variants out there!! -Nigel
