    Hello

Sorry to disagree Peter, but the navy clasp is shown on the official authorised lists of awards and badges that make up the new form 57 pieces, and is listed in the design as seen in Thomas's post. Therefore this clasp is an official 57 new form item.

    Regards
    David

I still see no reason to believe it is something other than this is just a Souval postwar made copy.
I still see no reason to believe that this clasp started his life as being a bronze clasp.
I still see no reason to asume that the hardware has been replaced.
I still see no reason to assume it has been stamped after it left the factory

I showed my clasps to show that the badge that started this thread (if stamped)came from the same die that S&L used around 1957-1960.
I showed the other clasp wich IMO is a S&L made clasp around 1965 is different.

I have no idea about postwar Souvals because I don't run a mile away, but run like my life is at stake.
But I do know that Souval used many different hardwares on their postwar copies.
Here are some needles I recently got offered that are similar/comparable that S&L used.

I have to admit i was wrong. It is indeed listed as decoration in the "1957 Geänderter Form". These clasp´s are however patterned after this design that had no swastika.

And here is for example a clasp in silver (still for sale at a Dealer) with the same die characteristics and a shorter needle than the second clasp I posted.

I'm with Luud on this one who presents pretty compelling info to back up that it is a Souval fake.

I too don't think it started as a bronze grade. S&L clasps sometimes don't have bronze color applied to the pin at the factory or they don't hold their color. See these two examples. A minor point, but one more thing that makes me think this one is not from S&L
