    Modern made?

Have these 3 in my possesion , are they modern made crap ?

The frosting? from gab is beginning to fall off, the picture and the flash makes it hard to spot.

Wabt to sell them , but i wonder if they are ever worth bothering to sell...

      Hello

The Demjansk shield looks like it's one of the better quality, earlier ones. The GAB and PB look like decent early mid produced pieces, say from around the late 1960's or just into the 1970's.

Are the hinge blocks on the GAB and PB solid or open?

      Regards
      David

I like the shield, but that PAB is for sure a modern piece. Look at the lack out cutout around the tank gun, and no cut on the left of the turret between the wreath. The lack of quality finish on the GAB also leads me to think later on that one, too.

            Hello

Attached is a photo of a solid hinge block, and in the next posting there is a photo of an open hinge block. Which do you your hinge blocks look like?

            Regards
            David

                Hello David.

They both are the open hinge.

                  Hello Daniel

With the open style hinges this is an indication of them being from the mid production period, although as with anything there are exceptions to the rule. The pins on the GAB and PAB are still the full length type, and not the shortened versions seen on the later offerings, and are of a style that can be seen on items from around the late 1960's or early 1970's (say up to 1972/73 ish). They are certainly not one of the modern 'made for the collector' type that can still be had on E-Bay.

If you want to be absolutely sure about these, then some clear, full face on photos of the backs and fronts, (in natural daylight and without flash), would greatly assist.

                  Regards
                  David

                      Hello David..

Here are some pics...i need to buy another camera..this is the best i could do...

The darker parts on PAB are patina, the loss of "frosting" are now much clearer on the Gab.
