Nigel, a good looker from the front, but the reverse looks like it's been gone over with sandpaper.

Yeah, i like it. Is it a vaulted one? On the photos it looks so.
Looking at the hardware - could this be the earliest production in the 50s?

Very nice cross Nigel! A bit of wear gives some nice character! This is a nice example!

Rudigers question about the date needs answered. Does the domed hinge pin make it a little later in the timeline (mid-60's) or am I wrong?

                            Bleeding 3 core

This core type with the '3' that bleeds into the '9' is something I've seen a few EK1s recently. I think it was a mid- or transitional core, maybe, as I've seen it on a few EK1s with solid hinge, a few with open hinge, all with domed pin and somewhat wider catch.

                            Best regards,
                            Streptile

Ok gents, so we can´t date these ek´s only about the hardware? Only about the core? I´m a little bit confused I would like to know how i can see that it´s a very very early one (from the 50s)
Here are two pics from my private database, the first ek is marked 1959(date of buying?) by the owner, and one pic of i think detlef niemann to compare. They both have no domed hingepins but IMO the very early hardware.
There´s a thread somewhere in this 57er section where Peter? dated these ek´s with this hardware as made in the 50s, i think.

And why can i only upload one pic in a posting????
