The only thing i did'nt mention, is the wieght of this cross, i have'nt got scales to give you the exact weight, but its really heavy, much heavier than 57 Deumers or S & L's -Nigel

You gents lost me with the terms "Blighty" and "the Ashes." A quick bit of searching and I'm a bit less wonky on the subject!

In the future would you please keep your comments in the english language? It IS the official language of the forum after all.

Ah, yes, the Ashes in Blighty and an Assmann. These are the days.

(you have to realize how funny this sounds to us over here, sorry )
                      Best regards,

                          Hello

Apologies for my use of the English language, after all I'm only an 'umble Englishman Given recent events in Scotland, as a part of the UK, perhaps a better description of my mother country should at this point in time have been 'this perfidious Albion'

                          Regards

Haha! Here we go again! I love it David!

"Perfidious Albion" is a hostile epithet for England or the United Kingdom: perfidious signifies one who does not keep his faith or word, while Albion is the Ancient Greek name for Britain.

                              Hi Nige,

Given the weight of the Assmann EK1, I wouldn't expect it to have an S&L frame, even though it appears to have an S&L core. Can you please confirm that your Assmann frame is different from an S&L frame? I'm trying to do some research into Assmann's and this is an important question.

                              Your help is very appreciated!

                              Danke,
                              Best regards,

Hi Trev, I've looked at this before, and the problem is that S & L seemed to have used more than one core and certainly more than one frame, even in the early production period!
I found one S & L cross that had a frame that seemed to match the Assmann, though the Assmann seemed to be crisper and better finished overall!
I'll compare them again, take some pics, and get back to you!!!
Theres got to be an explanation for the weight difference too!!!
