Hi Guys,
You should know the way that I collect by now . I will purchase a copy of a real 57er badge as a filler until I can locate a nice early 57er.
Especially in this case, it is a badge that I probabally will never locate due to its rarity. ( I hate to say never but it is a ultra-rare badge)
I think I have only ever seen one nice real early one in my time of collecting.
I know what it is and thats how I roll! God has blessed me with the financial ability to be able to collect in this manner, so I do.
I do appreciate all of your concern but I do know what is good and what is bad for the most part. I do enjoy learning something new everyday though!
Thanks again & Happy Hunting,
Vince

I would pass on this, looks casted.
I think the early Heer FJ badges are rare.
But the mid to modern pieces are very common. I recently saw another descent piece posted here, I think it was our Belgium friend.
Here is a Heer badge I have for a long time that I do want to upgrade...I am NOT proud of it, but will stay till I found a killer piece like Mike has!Attached Files

Doesn't the Heer FJ that you have just posted have a Luftwaffe eagle on it? And Mikes Luftwaffe FJ has a Heer eagle? Maybe they just used whatever eagles they, (or the eagle manufacturer if they were bought in), in stock at any given time and coloured them accordingly.
Just to be different, here's one from my collection - a Luftwaffe FJ with a Luftwaffe eagle!!! Before anyone asks, solid block hinge but not the round style pin.

Always love your knowledgable input!
For starters, your badge is an early beauty, small round pin or not!
Yes, you are correct that Luud's badge is a Luft Eagle with Heer Para color scheme. The vast majority of New Form Heer Para badges were made with Luft eagles AND Luft wreaths. I do not know why.
I have seen three Para badges with Heer eagles. All three are posted in this thread and the one below came from reference material on Jamie Cross' website and it's also a Luft badge in color scheme and wreath type. I will post it and some other examples for reference.Attached FilesLast edited by mbizy; 07-12-2009, 09:10 PM.
