      Hello Rudiger,

I recently saw a very similar set of the WMC 1st & 2nd classes being sold together. The 2nd class was a regular cross but the first class was very similar to yours posted here.

Without holding it in my hands it is difficult to say for sure but it appears to be a WW2 production piece with a circular 1939 disc placed over the swastika.

You have it so what do you think? From the pictures this appears to be so.

Please let us know what you think.

      Happy Hunting!

You are spot on, Vince ! It started out as a wartime piece but swastika removed & replaced by 1939 disk.

Nigel is correct Rüdiger. These new pics really show off your new prize nicely! A very nice addition to any collection!

You're right about the finish on a wartime zinker. Many have lost their finish entirely. Yours is still quite nice!

Very nice and very early cross

The cross has been made from the dies where Deumer made his wartime KvK's with.
Most of these that I have seen lost all thier finish already (except the small disc).

              Hello Rudiger,

I finally located the photos I was looking for. This one is very similar to yours. There are others out there!

                Hi Vince,
as i wrote in my PM, this is the "same" cross as mine, a nice Deumer which has lost its finish. I can´t say if the case is an original wartime case, so i would max. pay 75€ - 90€ for the WMC with case.
The medal bar is in my eyes about 45€ worth, could be than other collectors would pay more for both pieces, but that is what i would pay.
I´m watching this auction, too. But i don´t want to bid, i´m only interested what the ending price is.
If you want to bid on this very nice pieces, i wish you good luck - hope you´ll get them
