    New Mine Sweeper Badge

    Howdy from AZ,

I just purchased this Navy badge and was wondering if anyone has ever seen a backing like this on a 57er badge?

    Seems strange, opinions please.
    Thanks,
    Vince

Unfortunately it is a very modern badge.

      Hello Peter,

It just looked funny, thats why I asked. I purchased it from Barry at EMedals in Canada, I am sure he will make it right. I have received some great stuff from him in the past.

Thank you for confirming my opinion,
      Vince

        Hey Vince,

The primary indicators on this badge are the size and shape of the pin. Look for badges with small, round pins. Also, the overly shiny finish to the obverse and poorly finished reverse.

        Best,

As a novice, I look at the piece as I look at WW2 item like detail, finish, patina and setup. More using my Gut Feeling in stead of knowledge.
And this badge don't give me a warm feeling...sorry, I hope you can return it.

            Hello

As has already been said, this is a modern made item, made for the collectors market. That said, it is not a fake or copy - simply a modern made 57 item.

            Regards
            David

              Got it replaced

              Hi Guys,

Just as a follow up to this almost disasterous purchase. Barry from EMedals came through and replaced the lame duck with this beauty!
              Enjoy,
              Vince

That's an upgrade Vince. Not the earliest, but definitely earlier.

Much better, and what a beautifull contrast between the colours!
