Looks like a very nice one Luud - what about better pics ?

    Comment

Sorry Rudiger, I havent made better pictures yet.
But I did make some better pictures of another one I recently got hold on.

You just need some to buy them at the right places and have the guts to buy from the crappiest pictures.

        Hello

That looks like a really nice 1st pattern RK Luud

€465 is €115 more than the €350 you quoted, and is much closer to to €500 I mentioned I know that there are still bargains to be had, but sadly they are getting fewer and fewer as more people latch onto the 57 pieces.

Great piece and at a baragin price as well Have a check round, for example, the dealers sites and see what they are asking for new form RKs, even later 2nd pattern ones. That'll make your eyes water!!!

        Regards
        David

I think all of us, not only Luud, are looking for a great deal every time. They are still out there, so sometime you can get lucky.
Unfortunately with collecting comes simple economics. The higher the demand of a scarce product, the higher the price will be .

Its also the question of currency. While we in EU can now cheaply buy from USA dealers, its unfortunately not the same for our USA buddies when buying in EU ... currency fluctuations can make a big diffirence in price as well.

@ Luud, that is one nice looking 1st pattern RK. Great find, buddy .

I actually don't see it as a great deal.
I don't buy for resales (too much effort for me), so I only buy what I do want and for the price I want to pay.

And somethimes I pay the "Jackpot" if I really want something.
I payed $250 for a single new form badge 2 weeks ago because I really wanted.
While most of you wouldn't even consider buying it.

Here are for example some crosses my wife bought 2 days ago.
Some people may consider it as a nice deal, but they are not interesting for me and she paid more than that they are worth to me.

Man, oh man, this is SO true! There's many pieces out of my price point, due to the poor exchange rate. I don't think we'll see a 1:1 rate ever again , but I dream for that day as I'd finally be able to pull the trigger on some nice pieces over on the other side of the pond!! At least
I'm glad I was able to amass most of my '57's before the price increases over the last few years! Back then we didn't even have a separate chapter for 57's on the WAF!

The time of the big great bargaines has gone, even at ebay.de. A few days ago a very early gold wound badge was sold for 37,39€ Glad i already have one
My ebay watchlist is full of items, but when i look at the prices they go......mostly more than i would pay.
Luud is right, sometimes i pay the jackpot too, if i want that piece really, but i have it NOW, and in a few years this one is more expensive than now. So i try to get the most expensive items now, like my RK, and then can lean back myself for looking at the cheaper items.

But if you REALLY want a certain piece, i think all of us would go pay more than we should!!!!nono.gif Iknow i have -Nigel

Same here ... very desirable piece, but way out of my budget . I even know a dealer who has one with an even higher price tag .

                        Hello

You quite correct there Nigel. For the right piece, and if you really, really want it nearly all of us have probably paid over the odds for an item or two. I have

The highest priced early (S&L war time parts, 'coke bottle' pin, halbetui style war time parts case etc) new form DKiG that I know of on offer at the moment is up at €750 Were those sharp intakes of breath I just heard?

Where will it end? Well, the same dealer also has a 2nd pattern 57 RK, and just the RK, no case, on his site also for €750. I guess if this is the shape of things to come we'd better all start mooing now
